Introducing Xtrace, founded by Havard Bach, a Norwegian Pioneer with 34 Years of Diverse Experience in Global Mine Action. The Xtrace Team Includes Dedicated Professionals with Extensive Track Records in Mine Detection Dog Programs Worldwide. Xtrace is founded on a strong set of values and objectives aimed at significantly improving the slow and costly process of land release. Our mission is to leverage innovative and creative applications of dogs to achieve maximum operational efficiency. By increasing efficiency, we release more land, optimising the value of donor investments, saving lives, and accelerating post-war recovery.
Mine action is often a prolonged process, spanning decades in certain countries. Establishing sustainable national capacity is crucial but challenging. With over 35 years of experience collaborating with nationals across diverse regions, we prioritize building lasting national capacity. We understand how to foster high-quality, well-managed initiatives that endure.
At Xtrace, we believe in the power of partnerships over isolation. By combining our strengths and acknowledging our limitations alongside other institutions and authorities, we enhance our collective efforts towards effective mine action.
Portfolio
XTRACE is a Norwegian-based company created in January 2024. XTRACE replaced European “Intergroup Xtrace” in February 2024. The global focus is on mine action – training and deploying dogs for technical survey and clearance. Our dog teams have worked with UK based “SafeLane Global” in Azerbaijan for survey & clearance of landmines over the past two years. The dogs have conducted technical survey and clearance in conjunction with machines and manual deminers. XTRACE is currently setting up a mine detection dog capacity in Ukraine, where we have partnered with the Swiss NGO FSD.
In Norway, XTRACE has partnered with “Nordic Sprengstoffhund” for survey and clearance of civil and military explosives at construction sites. A second domestic focus is design and distribution of personalised garments and equipment from Swedish Beyond-X.
XTRACE also supplies a range of additional mine action services, including consultancy, training (dog handlers, team leaders trainers) and supplying quality mine action staff for various mine action applications. All XTRACE staff are certified as deminers, dog handlers, team leaders and trainers in compliance with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS). Some of our staff are certified as EOD level 2 and 3 Officers.
